Our Founder & Our Story
The story of Rockway Community Pharmacy begins with one man’s dream and determination. In 1973, Abdul Siddiqui immigrated to the United States with a strong desire to build a meaningful life and serve his community. He worked tirelessly, and in 1979, he became a certified registered pharmacist. Just two years later, in 1981, he opened his first retail pharmacy in Far Rockaway, Queens, offering personalized care in a time when big chain pharmacies were taking over.
In 1985, Abdul Siddiqui expanded his mission by opening Rockway Community Pharmacy in Brooklyn, located on Flatbush Avenue. That same location still serves thousands of residents today, providing the same family-run, high-quality service that started it all. As the demand for trusted neighborhood pharmacies grew, we opened a second branch in Sunnyside, Queens, in 2013.
